Welcome to the Royal Scepter Gems and Minerals website. We are an ecclectic little shop in Silver City, New Mexico, a community of about 15,000 people in the southwestern part of the state. The store is owned and operated by Kevin Cook and Sylveen Robinson-Cook and features 2,200 square feet of retail store space.

We have no employees other than ourselves and our two boys, because we want you to have a friendly, positive shopping experience. You will never be harrassed by high-pressure sales people in our shop. We cater to kids of all ages. You'll find items as low as a dime up to jewelry, gifts and minerals valued at several thousand dollars. Click here for directions to our store.

We also offer online sales of selected, unique one-of-a-kind pieces that you will not find anywhere else. This website is designed to provide you with a sense for our store. JEWELRY
For a small shop, the Royal Scepter carries a lot of jewelry. We specialize in silver and copper gemstone jewelry as well as southwestern style jewelry. We have over 300 rings, 100 pendants, 100 pairs of earrings, gemstone necklaces and silver chains. Many of our pieces are handmade by local and regional artisans.

GIFTS
Many of the gift items in our store are carved from stone (stoneware and sculpted pieces). We also carry pottery and fine wood products.

MINERALS & FOSSILS
We are located in the heart of copper country and a very unique geologic setting. We have a wide variety of local mineral specimens, lapidary rough and finished gemstones. Come on in and check out our minerals and fossils at our store.

BOOKS & MAPS
We have a wide variety of books on mineral and fossil identification, rockhounding sites, lapidary techniques and general geology in our store. You'll find geologic, topographic, satellite image and shade-relief maps in our store. As a business partner with the USGS, we carry a complete line of USGS 7.5 minute and 30 x 60 minute quadangle maps of southwestern New Mexico. We also carry the BLM's Surface Management Status maps for the region. These maps are great for hikers, hunters and other outdoor enthusiasts.

ROCKHOUNDING SUPPLIES
We carry rock hammers, sledges, chisels and gads, as well as gold pans, loupes and tumbling grits. We don't sell these items on line, but stop by the store if you find yourself in short supply while visiting the area.
